Portugal Carves Out Dedicated Centres for Driving, Hunting and Firearms Medicals to Take the Paperwork Off Family Doctors

Portaria n.o 377/2026/1, published on Tuesday, lets each of the 39 local health units open a Centro de Avaliacao Medica e Psicologica. It covers group 1 and group 2 driving licences, hunting permits, gun licences and nautical activities. No centre exists yet, and the text sets no price.

Twelve Injured on Albufeira's Oura Strip After a Driver Told to Stop Accelerated Into the Crowd at 3am

A car parked on Rua da Oura began to move at about 03:00 on Tuesday. Ordered to stop by a GNR patrol, the driver reversed and accelerated into pedestrians and the police line. Ten civilians aged 18 to 22 and two GNR officers were hurt. The 35-year-old driver blew 1.29 grams per litre.

The Meal-Allowance Fight in the 2027 Budget Also Decides How Much of a Private-Sector Meal Card Escapes Tax

The IRS Code exempts a meal card up to the state's daily allowance plus 70 percent, which is €10.46 in 2026. FESAP, STE and the Frente Comum open October's negotiation asking for €10 a day against the €6.30 already scheduled, which would lift the card ceiling to €17.
