Eurostat's 2025 figures put the share of people in Portugal who cannot afford regular leisure at 8.7 percent, under the EU's 12.1 and down from 20.6 in 2014. The gap is wide for the poor and over-65s, and 33.1 percent cannot afford a week's holiday.
