Spain's Talgo will offer CP high-speed trains able to switch between Iberian and European gauge, its CEO says, though the 504 million euro tender for 12 Lisbon to Porto trains neither requires nor rewards it. Alstom is the only rival; the contract is due in early 2027.
From 8 November, night stopping trains between Cais do Sodré and Oeiras will run to and from São Pedro do Estoril while Oeiras station is rebuilt. The night replacement buses stay, and CP says new timetables are coming.
The second winter closure for the 110 million euro electrification of the 47 km stretch runs to 24 March. Replacement buses will serve the stations, and trains return on 25 March 2027.
