The GNR Has Detained 173 Fire Suspects This Year, the Most in a Decade, Out of 6,200 Fires It Investigated
The head of the GNR's nature protection service gave the figures in Vila Pouca de Aguiar on Friday. Burning agricultural and forest residues is still the biggest identified cause, most suspects are men in their fifties, and 19 percent of those detained are women.
