Labor Reform Talks Collapse Without Agreement

The government's Trabalho XXI labor reform negotiations ended without a deal after unions and employers failed to bridge differences on fixed-term contracts and outsourcing. The UGT rejected the latest proposal, saying it does not meet conditions for agreement. Seguro Begins Presidential Term

Antonio Jose Seguro was sworn in as President of the Republic on March 9 at the Assembly of the Republic, beginning a five-year mandate.
