The Euribor Has Overtaken the 2.5 Percent Ceiling Written Into Portugal's Savings Certificates, So September Is Where Savers Stop Sharing the Rise

The base rate on Série F cannot exceed 2.50 percent, and the three-month Euribor has not closed below that since 17 August. August paid 2.474. September stops at the cap, the first time since March 2025. Borrowers keep paying the rise; savers do not.

A Portuguese Home Loan Adds Between €23 and €70 in September, the Steepest Single Reset Since Late 2023

On a €150,000 loan over 30 years at a 1 percent spread, the three-month reset adds €23.21, the six-month €46.95 and the twelve-month €70. The European Central Bank meets on 10 September, and markets are already pricing a second rise on 17 December.

Portugal Puts Its Electricity Storage Plan Out for 20 Days of Public Consultation, Targeting 3.9 Gigawatts of Pumped Hydro and 3 Gigawatts of Batteries by 2030

The National Storage Strategy is now on Participa.pt and anyone can file a comment. It wants pumping at 3.9 GW and batteries at 3 GW by 2030, rising to 5.26 and 4.5 by 2040. The 2030 pumping number rests on one project, and Brussels still has to approve that half.
