Constitutional Court Rejects Montenegro's Spinumviva Appeal
The Tribunal Constitucional has declined to hear Prime Minister Luís Montenegro's appeal against disclosing his family firm's client list. EU Border System Goes Live April 9 — No Further Delays
The European Commission has confirmed that the Entry/Exit System, which biometrically tracks non-EU nationals crossing Schengen borders, will be fully implemented by April 9 with no additional extensions. Portugal suspended the system at Lisbon Airport in December after queues reached seven hours; the government says it has reinforced staffing and equipment ahead of the spring travel season. Travellers from outside the EU or EEA should expect longer border processing times around mid-April.
Rents Rising Sharply in Beja and the Algarve, Easing in the North
New data from Idealista shows Portugal's rental market splitting along regional lines. Beja posted a 24.2% year-on-year rent increase in February, with average rents reaching €11.7 per square metre.
